Successor to a long list of tremendous caricaturists, Guy\u00a0Badeaux has published more than 10,000\u00a0drawings since joining the Le\u00a0Droit<\/em> newspaper in\u00a01981. He has illustrated every major theme of world, national, provincial and regional significance.<\/p>\n

The exhibit entitled Bado: The Francophonie Through Pencil Strokes<\/em> explores the caricaturist\u2019s work as it relates to Canada\u2019s Francophonie at many different levels. How does the one entrusted with the opinion drawing for francophone Ontario\u2019s major newspaper look at the issues affecting the francophone communities in Ottawa, Ontario and Canada?<\/p>\n

Themes such as the matter of the capital\u2019s bilingualism, managing schools for Franco Ontarians, Bill\u00a08, the fight to save the Montfort hospital, the creation of Universit\u00e9 de l\u2019Ontario fran\u00e7ais, the Official Languages Act<\/em>, not to mention the situation of francophone minorities in Canada, are all topics that this exhibition invites visitors to discover through the pencil stroke of caricaturist Bado.<\/p>\n
